MEATH CHRONICLE

County Meath resident John Eager has launched a new management consulting firm, WinAbu Consulting.

The firm’s focus will be on offering Irish businesses a range of hands-on in-company management supports to help them improve and develop their businesses. John Eager, originally from Artane in Dublin but now living in Dunboyne, recently stepped down as CEO of Snap, the national print franchise, after successfully turning Snap around during the recession. Prior to Snap, he was involved in the 2009 rescue of Buy&Sell, and he served for many years in Nelson Loane’s Adare as a senior executive.

“Irish businesses are coming out of heavy recession, most often battered and bruised, and there are plenty of areas still for improvement, rebuilding and positioning for growth. For many, there are residual problems to be solved, particularly on legacy debt-levels in SMEs. The next phase for Irish business will be to deal with legacy debt, after several years of being in a ‘holding pattern’ with the banks,” he said.

WinAbu Consulting will offer senior management support, financial management, business turnaround and business improvement services. These services reflect John Eager’s background and experience in industry, where he has worked in some very challenging environments.

“Most business-owners and management teams would not be expected to have the specialised type of skills that come from working in acute situations. WinAbu Consulting will share its experience with a hands-on approach,” he said.

John Eager is a chartered accountant, and holds an MBA from the University of New Hampshire in the USA.
